Happy 4th of July!

Rylann, Tristan, Nana, and I all went to the town parade in the morning. Both kids really enjoyed it, Tristan for the moving vehicles and animals, and Rylann for the candy the parade participants threw out and the free ice cream at the end.

The parade begins!

Tristan waving at the war veterans.

Tristan is a little unsure about the sirens on the fire trucks.

Obviously, Rylann took her flag waving job very seriously.

Tristan decided that this parade was in fact, very entertaining.

Happy Tristan!

He enjoys holding sharp, patriotic objects. Go figure.

The end, and can you see which person is the happiest in this picture?

Disneyland Trip Part Deux

Warning: Picture overload ahead.

Checking into the hotel with Rylie's beloved suitcase in tow.

Checking out the view from our hotel room.

Rylann posing underneath "her" R. It took a long time for us to convince her that other words needed to use the letter R, and it wasn't used solely for her name.

I'm a model, you know what I mean. I do my little turn on the catwalk...

Any requests?

Do they look guilty or what?

Testing the water.

Tristan loves cars, trains, trucks, basically anything
with wheels. So he really loved this cab from Monstropolis.

And again...

Rylann is a good big sister, and enables Tristan to further his obsession.

Rylann with her favorite giant rodent in the whole world. Sorry Chuck E.!

Blowing up ToonTown.

Fleeing the scene.

97 degrees out, watching the parade in her swimsuit.

Taking a much needed nap, at the same time! Amazing! Disney IS a magical place!

Rylie's Stage Debut

Make a note: on July 1st, Rylann made her stage debut at the Del Mar Fair. She'll sign autographs for her fans later. Her performance consisted of just one other little girl, and they danced to "Bibbity, Bobbity, Boo". She seemed a little nervous going out on the stage, but she did great. And, she also took time out during the performance to giggle with her friend.

Having fun backstage.

Still having the giggles.

Waiting patiently for their performance time.

Showtime!

Adding their personal touches to the choreography.

The Hills are Alive

Rylann liked this dress so much, that no extra incentives (ahem, chocolate) were necessary for her to endure my picture taking. Most of the time she was a happy blur, but here are some shots that came out okay.

Warning, product plug ahead....

The dress came via the zebronkey express from www.sweetbirdie.com!

Play time at the park

We had a fun day at the park and a short trip to the zoo today. Rylann showed Tristan exactly how things worked there, and Tristan was very eager to learn.

May I have this dance?

Last week, Tristan met his great-grandmother for the first time ever! She lives in Mexico, so visits are few and far between, but luckily Tristan was able to meet her right before she traveled with Tata to Aunt Paloma's graduation from Georgetown.

Through the Eyes of a Three Year Old

Rylann loves to take pictures, but we did not love her playful recklessness when handling our camera. So, we bought her a pink camera, specifically for little kids. Drop it? It's okay! Swing it around by the wrist strap? No worries. Put in the bathtub to see whether it will float? Maybe not...but we do admire her scientific drive for experimentation.

So here are a few of her pictures, which we really enjoy because it shows her viewpoint of her world, at 39 inches high.

Busted!

Look familiar?

A clue!
